Match report

Kadar Rangers 2 - 5 Redcar NewmarketToday RN travelled to a Kadar Rangers who had a star studded lineup with ex academy players and lots Division 1 players, Newmarket welcomed back Corner who has been out for 10weeks with a broken wrist but Scott was still missing with a groin injury!!!Newmarket kicked off and KR immediately pressed for possession as they looked to stamp their authority on the game early, after 10mins RN settled into shape and took the lead when a ball switched from LB from McNeil found Davison to latch onto and charge into the box and smash it across goal to the bottom corner, not long after Carragher won possession from 25yards out and looked up then sweetly struck the ball over the keepers head for a quality strike to add to his collection, KR managed to break through RN defence to pull one back. The move/goal of the game came when RN played from the back with link up play involving Carragher, Winspear and then Davison who slotted a through ball for Innis to latch on to then calmly put past the keeper, this was a great sweeping move lovely football to watch, moments later Innis repaid the assist to Davison sending him 1v1 to finish his 2nd of the game and take RN into a excellent 4-1 first half lead!!!!HTThe second half was always going to be hard for RN with the wind getting strong and rain driving into their faces, as expected KR came out all guns blazing and Newmarket were doing a good job holding them off, KR plan seemed to be to get long range shots off, one resulting in Levett running backwards to his line and turning one over the crossbar... unreal save, KR had a corner whipped in and everyone on and off the pitch them saw their player handle the ball before it getting put in, it seemed everyone seen but the ref who along with this decision he got many others wrong favouring the home side, KR then threw everything at RN with Levett making numerous important saves from long shots, RN weathered the storm and Innis broke free to the touch line then looked up to pick out a on rushing Carragher into the box to blast home his 2nd and Newmarket’s 5th, the game ended 5-2 with more chances saved from Davison, Innis and a nice Header from Winspear, this was a superb performance from the whole team to stay top of the league, well done boys keep it up!!!MOM - JACK LEVETT - Excellent saves at very crucial points in the match, well done Jack!
