Redcar Newmarket U15 v STOCKTON WEST END

By

Match report

Today Newmarket travelled to Stockton to maintain their promotion charge but low on numbers with Able quitting playing, Jones injured last week, Carragher carrying a injury and Smith just returning from illness.Newmarket started the game comfortably and it was long before they took the lead when Carragher skipped through a couple of tackles and put Davison through to put RN 1-0 up, RN then seem to ease off and became really sloppy as SWE got back into the game, awful defending lead to a SWE corner which was scrambled in for equaliser you couldn’t say that you didn’t see it coming, the game became really scrappy and not nice on the eye until 5mins before half time Davison slipped through Hood who came bombing in off the LW to put the ball in the bottom corner, not long after Karlsson fed a superb ball through but Davison realising he was offside excellently stood still and let Carragher break through from behind him to then round the keeper to make 3-1 at HTHTRN started the second half a lot more comfortable and seemed settled as Davison soon got his second of the game running in from the right to squeeze home in the bottom corner, not long after Blake added a fifth from a edge of the box scramble, Davison then completed his hat trick with a fine move as he burst forward from midfield and past to the feet of Smith with his back to goal who then turned and fed the return to Davison to beat the offside trap and smash past the keeper for his 20th league goal of the season, Blake completed the rout after a great long range drive from McCormick was parried away by the keeper for Blake to react first to claim his brace, a much improved second half just about made up for the terrible first half, Newmarket still need to get into gear from the off and kill the game off early instead letting teams back in!!!MOM - DAN DAVISON - not only did Dan get a hat trick and involved in other goal he put in a great shift, even in the first half he was chasing down everything trying to lift the boys, keep it up Dan and the golden boot will definitely be yours!!!
