Redcar Newmarket U15 v WOLSINGHAM

Match report

Today Newmarket entertained Wolsingham who were looking for revenge after we defeated them at their place a few weeks ago!!!Newmarket kicked off looking very positive knocking the ball about and applying early pressure, not many chances created but after 15mins Wolsingham upped their game and took control, Newmarket started looking scrappy and lost there shape, Wolsingham then put a ball over the top which the striker got on the end of and put away only for the referee to rightly blow for offside, then Scott cleared off the line from a corner and Levett turned the ball around the post from a deflected shot, the half time whistle couldn't come quick enough for Newmarket to regroup!!!HTAfter a stern talking to and a few positional changes and instructions Newmarket were good to go, ETHAN JONES was brought on in the interval after a long lay off with injury it was good to see him back, straight away RN were on the attack and looked refreshed, Carragher broke through the middle charging forward and rattled the crossbar as he was getting charged down by 2 Wolsingham players, then moments later Carragher whipped in a superb free kick for Jones to scramble it in the back of the net to take the lead, Davison then chased on to a through ball to be physically muscled off it by the Wolsingham defender for the ref to blow for a dubious penalty, it was a 50/50 decision  some give them others don't, Carragher then stepped up to make it 2-0 burying it in the bottom right corner, Wolsingham players then started loosing their discipline swearing at the referee and getting cautioned, Davison got away again into the box for the defender to recklessly take him out resulting in another penner and caution after more fowl language, Carragher then replicated his penalty for 3-0, Wolsingham players were totally gone flying in tackles mouthing off to our players and then one of them said some disgusting words to our assistant Mark which then got the referee to break the play and ask there manager get a grip of his players, rightly so, RN went about the business in a manner that made me proud, not getting intimidated by their players and not getting involved in fight/arguments and let their football do the talking, this was another big result from the lads well done, 3 more cup finals left and we sit back and see were we finish!!!MOM - AIDAN McCORMICK - Another midfield General display in the second half from Macca!!!Sent from my iPhone
